PR Package
A PR package (also called a PR box) is product plus branded packaging plus a short personalised note that a brand sends a creator unsolicited, with no contract and no obligation to publish content in return.
How do you get PR packages as a creator? Make yourself contactable (real email in bio, profile on a marketplace brand PR coordinators actually search), specialised (one defensible niche a brand can recognise in 60 seconds), and recent (posting in the last 14 days). Brand PR coordinators source from databases and marketplaces; cold-DM outreach to brand accounts converts at under 1 percent. How do brands send PR packages? Six stages: pick a single niche per drop, build a discoverable shortlist of 30 to 50 creators, design the box on a €40 to €150 landed budget, ship 15 to 50 boxes per drop, track on a five-column spreadsheet, follow up once after 21 days and never again.
Disclosure rules apply the moment the creator posts. FTC 16 CFR §255.5 (US, last amended 26 July 2023, 88 FR 48102) and ASA CAP Code §2.1 (UK) both treat gifted product as a material connection that must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously — "gifted" or "#gifted" at the start of the caption, not buried in hashtags. In France, the Décret 2025-1137 of 28 November 2025 raises a separate threshold: if the in-kind value of the package exceeds 1 000 € HT, the gift triggers a Loi 2023-451 written-contract obligation and stops being a no-contract send.
