Impressions

The total number of times a piece of content appeared on screen, including repeated views by the same user.

Impressions and reach are frequently confused. Impressions count every appearance; reach counts unique viewers. The ratio of impressions to reach (frequency) tells you how many times an average viewer saw the content. High frequency on a single piece of content can indicate either strong organic distribution or paid amplification.

For comparison shopping, brands look at impressions to gauge raw distribution scale. For attribution to a campaign objective (awareness, consideration, conversion), reach and engagement metrics are more useful.

Brands using Collabios typically request both impression and reach figures from creators during the briefing step, especially for paid-amplification campaigns where impressions × frequency dictates the budget.
